It’s a massive undertaking publishing these books – the 9th Edition covered 122 pages listing 1,200 oil spill clean up contractor locations in over 60 countries, we are now starting on the 10th Edition, slated for publication in 2027

We are accepting reservations for advertisements, we give priority to current advertisers, after which we will do our best to accommodate everyone’s wishes. We will not need payment or artwork until closer to the publication date.

Little Black Book – what is it? The Little Black Book is a comprehensive directory of oil spill contractors in 50 countries. The 8th Edition was published in April 2019, the 9th in March of 2024. The directory has been in production since 2001.

How often is it published? Approximately every 3 years (there needs to be sufficient changes in the industry).

Who is eligible for a listing? Any organization that provides an emergency oil spill cleanup service – primarily focusing on gross oil removal, not remediation. Spill response management and some remediation contractors in non-coastal communities are sometimes included subject to the editors’ discretion.

Can suppliers be listed? Not currently. Suppliers and manufacturers are offered the opportunity to advertise, if you would like to see a section in the book for manufacturers, I would be interested to hear from you.

Is there a fee for updating existing listings? No

Are there any recurring fees for being listed? No

How are the LBB distributed? At oil spill conferences around the World – for example Clean Americas, Interspill, International Oil Spill Conference, Spill Asia etc. They are also sold at a minimum cost on the internet.

How many copies are distributed? Approx 1500

When will it be published? Provisionally in 2027

What is the deadline for advertising and artwork? To be advised

What format is needed for the artwork? Press ready pdf.

What are the advertising options? We offer full page print adverts in the Little Black book. Advertisers get a logo on Cleanupoil.com

How much does it cost to advertise? We can offer a standard page within the book (full page, full color) for $2,900.00. Prime pages eg Inside front cover are at a premium rate and offered to existing advertisers first.
